Walking along any high street I'm like a homing pigeon, first it is the smell, like sweet lemon sherbet wafting along the high street that peaks my attention. Then it is the brightly adorned window displays with soaps, bath bombs, bars, creams and lotions. Walking past is simply not possible.
I love my baths as it is the only time of day that I get just ten minutes to myself and with Lush products it just makes them even better.
So when I was given the "Hello Gorgeous" gift set as a present containing three of my favourites, well you could say I was a little bit excited.
All Lush gifts come in beautiful packaging that almost look too beautiful too unwrap. I am looking forward to putting this box to good use afterwards.
So what comes inside?
Rub, Rub, Rub - Shower Scrub (£8.50),
The Comforter - Bubble Bar (£4.50),
Twilight Bath Bomb (£3.25),
Think Pink Bath Bomb (£2.50),
Vanilla Dee-Lite (£12.50),
Gorgeous Moisturiser tester.
First up is the comforter. My top tip is to cut it into four quarters and that way you get four baths. Each quarter crumbled under a running tap is more than enough to get lovely bubbles and a beautiful aromatic bath of Cassis and Bergamot.
Despite looking like a raspberry Slush Puppie, Rub, Rub, Rub is a little pot of heaven before any summer holiday. Taking a small amount rub all over your skin to remove dead skin. It smells wonderfully and lemony and is great for rejuvenating skin back to life.
Two very different bath bombs. Twilight is a slow burner and takes a good five minutes to melt away in a bath, turning beautiful shades of pink and blue whilst it dissolves. This is the perfect bath bomb before bed, very soothing with lavender and the Ylang Ylang oils do wonders for dry skin.
Think Pink quickly dissolves, it is not a favourite of mine as it is gone to quickly and is very sweet. But it makes for a pretty bath.
Now Vanilla I am not normally a great fan but Vanilla Dee-Lite body lotion is divine. If your skin is in need of a pick me up this is the perfect thing to use. It is a light lotion that is easily absorbed into the skin and the coconut oil does wonders for my skin. I also love the way the smell of coconut and vanilla hangs around.
My only bugbear about Lush is that when their gift boxes have fresh products why these either are not added to a gift box when purchased or that the box has an expiration date.
I have had a few boxes now that the products inside basically expire in a few months of purchase. The Vanilla Dee-Lite had eleven days to use and I would never be able to use all of the product in this time.
The last item in this wonderful gift box is Gorgeous facial Moisturiser. This product is like a little pot of gold. Packed with citrus fruit oranges, lemons, pineapple and evening primrose oil this works wonders on my dry and dull looking skin. If you are looking for a pick-me-up this is it.
The bath bombs and bubble bars are lovely! I really want to try them when I see them on blogs but I have two problems:
ReplyDelete1) I hate the over-service of lush employees
2) I don't have a bath.
Doom.

The bath bombs are lovely, the staff in all the shops in London that I have been in are lovely. Maybe they have so many people coming in that they aren't too overbearing. I would struggle not having a bath I love them Lucy x
DeleteThis is a lovely gift :) Rub Rub Rub is a great body scrub, one of my favourites :) xx
ReplyDeleteIt does wonders for the skin, it brings it back to life Lucy x

I really didn't think I would like the Vanilla Dee-Lite but I love it. The face cream is good, need to try it for a bit longer to see if I would repurchase. Hope you are both well and that your award is getting pride of place at home x

DeleteLOVE Lush! My favourite is Rose Jam, it smells just like Turkish Delight, I think it's only available at Christmas though :( I wish I'd bought more!

Rose jam has completely passed me by but I love Turkish Delight so I will need to look out for this at Christmas time. Hope you have had a nice weekend Lucy x
DeleteI agree with you about not wanting to open the packaging because it's so beaut... It's the same with the products , sometimes I don't have the heart to use them lol. My fave lush product is the mask of magnaminty!!! You should give it a whirl, it's fab!
ReplyDeleteI need to try more of their fresh masks they always look so nice, I never really get to spend long enough in a bath for it to work its magic. But if I buy this it could be a good excuse Lucy
DeleteI like the box gift. I never heard about "lush", from name seems to be best one and I can understand how easy you can get addicted to it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for your this worthy post!!!
Much love,

Lush is a lovely shop that makes handmade beauty products it is a superb shop where you can buy products that are ethically produced Lucy x
DeleteOh my, I love Lush too! I remember when it was Cosmetics To Go and mail order only, apart from like, one shop in Poole, they used to put walnut whips in with your parcels which always tasted a bit soapy! There's a lovely girl who works in the Newcastle shop who dresses all in pink and has pink hair, she used to get the same train as me, which was a joy, she smelled lovely all the way home! My fave product is Silky Underwear, closely followed by, oh, just about any bath bomb!! x
ReplyDeleteI know the girl you mean. She's so nice and once gave me a free bottle of perfume just before my wedding, it made my week, x
DeleteI am loving this post as learning about some new things to try. Cate what is Silky Underwear sounds interesting! I would love to sit next to someone who smelt of lush the nearest you get in London is newspaper print from someone sitting to close. Bath bombs are lovely Lucy x

Like you, I'm not a huge fan of vanilla but I love that body lotion and also their vanillary perfume. I also love their rose argon body conditioner at the moment and dream cream doesn't snell great but is amazing on my sensitive skin. X
